ABWK in Vinton

After the completion of nearly 70 ABWK projects in the Wellington Heights neighborhood in Cedar Rapids, over the past several years, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity is taking it’s A Brush With Kindness program to Vinton, Iowa! Aiming to serve up to a dozen families in and around Vinton, Habitat is calling on community volunteers to help make an impact on the lives of these families! The ABWK Blitz in Vinton is scheduled for June 19-23, 2017.

What is ABWK?

A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) is a program of Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity that helps limited-income homeowners by offering affordable exterior home improvements. Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by painting, landscaping and performing minor exterior repairs at minimal cost to homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own. Able-bodied homeowners are encouraged to work alongside the volunteers in a cooperative effort. This neighborhood-based program is for homeowners earning 55 percent or less of the area median income.

Special thanks to our generous supporters that help make this possible!
