National Women Build 2012
Developed through the partnership between Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity, Women Build challenges women to devote at least one day to the effort to eliminate poverty housing. The event is an Initiative of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program, underwritten by Lowe’s, which brings women from all walks of life together to learn construction and then use those skills to build simple, decent, affordable houses. Cedar Valley Habitat has reached a milestone over 20 years in the making! On October 1, 2011, we will be celebrating the completion of our 100th new or rehabilitated home! To learn more about this event, please head over to our news section!

First Things First

2011 Home Team Challenge - Supported by the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation
As Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity (CVHFH) gears up for a busy summer building season, the organization is celebrating a milestone more than 20 years and 99 homes in the making. Kurt and Brenda Warner returned to Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, May 31 to raise walls on a new home in the profoundly flood affected Czech Village area. This is the 100th home built or rehabilitated by CVHFH since its start in 1988. Click here for more information.

Habitat for Humanity uses World Habitat Day as a call to action for individuals and organizations to change the reality of poverty housing and to work together to find solutions for those in need. During World Habitat Month in October we are asking our volunteers and supporters to get involved through the Habitat Bank Program or Photo Project.  Click here for more information.

2010 Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon
More than 500 Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps National Direct and VISTA members from across the country will come together this week to kickoff the annual Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon. As part of the annual event, more than 20 homes will be built, rehabilitated or repaired in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, June 11-18, 2010. Participants will repair homes through Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness program. Click here for more information.
