Background on AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon
The AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon is typically a weeklong event bringing together hundreds of Habitat
for Humanity AmeriCorps members from across the country to build a large number of homes in a
limited time. The Build-a-Thon’s larger focus is to raise awareness around affordable housing, highlight
the partnership of the Corporation for National and Community Service and Habitat for Humanity
International, and increase the capacity of a community to meet its local needs.
