2010 - First Things First $100,000 Challenge

As the Cedar Valley continues to rebuild from the Flood of 2008, Iowa natives Kurt and Brenda Warner are challenging Cedar Rapids faith-based and corporate organizations to commit to building simple, decent and affordable homes with Habitat for Humanity! The Warner’s First Things First Foundation is making a generous gift of $100,000 to help complete two Habitat homes in 2010. But now, they are calling on community-minded folks to match their gift for 2011— making it possible to build at least one more Habitat home with an area family in need!

To demonstrate their commitment to joining in Habitat’s work in 2011, Kurt Warner’s First Things First Home Team participants will pledge to support at least one Habitat construction day next year.

As part of the program, partners will commit to at least an $8,000 one-day “Front Door” sponsorship on the First Things First Foundation Habitat home. The program will provide not only a tremendous amount of PR, but also the option of providing one full day’s worth of volunteer labor.

Partners will be invited to a special Home Team build site picnic hosted by Kurt and Brenda on Friday, June 25, 2010 at noon.
