This is a crucial full time, salaried position working Tuesday thru Saturdays at the ReStore that oversees the day-to-day warehouse operations of our retail building supplies store. Candidate must be able to research and find the most competitive pricing of the items ReStore receives as donations. Candidate must be able to negotiate with at times difficult customers and problem-solve a solution, keeping in mind what’s best for our mission as Habitat for Humanity. Candidate must know and familiarize self with the changing climate of retail and be able to market and leverage ReStore inventory to help make the most profitable exchanges. Candidate will need to be creative in marketing and retail approaches considering our limited marketing budget. Candidate will be knowledgeable of how ReStore helps the overall mission of the Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity and be able to communicate that effectively to our customers.
Primary daily responsibilities will include:
- Act as the day to day warehouse operations connection of the ReStore handling the safe intake of appropriate donations for re-sell on the sales floor.
- Oversee the day to day warehouse operations of ReStore, including the Recycling Center, daily intake of donations, daily POS inventory of donations and timely distributing of that inventory to the sales floor.
- Supervise AmeriCorps and community service volunteers by tasking out what needs to be done on a daily basis. Candidate will work closely with ReStore Director to prioritize said tasks and responsibilities.
- Work with ReStore, affiliate and construction staff daily in a respectful manner.
- Oversees that the ReStore is safe, clean and operational for the public to shop daily.
- Candidate will be crucial in the daily operations of the Point of Sale system knowing inventory and appropriate retail pricing strategies, and marking inventory daily as it comes in as donations.
- Will serve as Driver of the ReStore truck on a daily and weekly basis to do pick ups for larger donations.
- Will assist in the daily end of the day transactions recording and variances; record keeping in cooperation with the ReStore Director, and Lead Cashier.
- Assist the ReStore Director in the fiscal budget and help in maintaining balance of income to expenses.
- Act as a community liaison in the recycling community to educate about the mission of recycling of the CVHH ReStore.
- Develop network connections whenever and wherever possible to procure more donated inventory and secure increased profitability for the ReStore and its Affiliate.
- Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Director.
Requirements: - Some college or equivalent work experience.
- Clean driving record. Experience driving 16 ft cube truck helpful.
- Forklift license; or the willingness to obtain license.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials preferred.
- Knowledge and ability of general construction skills.
- Willingness to work with diverse staff, volunteers and customer base.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using a computer.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Committed to the Habitat for Humanity mission.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
