The Blueprint for CVHFH in 2014

Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to building and rehabilitating simple, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Partner families make a down payment, invest hundreds of hours of sweat equity into the construction of their homes and other Habitat homes, and make monthly mortgage payments on a zero-interest loan. Since 1988, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity has built or rehabilitated more than 120 homes. Cedar Valley Habitat plans to serve 25-30 families in 2014 through a combination of projects, including new construction, home rehabilitations and exterior painting/repair projects.

CVHFH has committed to the revitalization of Cedar Rapids by fully relocating all operations including its ReStore, construction facility, and offices into downtown-area, flood-impacted buildings. Over the next three years, the organization will focus its efforts on new, single family in-fill construction, rehabilitation of flooded homes and exterior painting/repair projects on owner-occupied homes—all in core neighborhoods. We will partner with Cedar Rapids-area families in need of simple, decent, and affordable housing and your support is essential to the success of this vital ministry.

If you would like to volunteer on our construction site, join a committee, or provide meals for groups ranging from 5-50 people, please contact our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@cvhabitat.org.

If you’re looking for the ideal team-builder or a meaningful mission opportunity here at home for your organization, please contact Patti Kunz at PattiKunz@cvhabitat.org in regards to our Hope Builders program and become one of our sponsors!
