The Williams Family
LaQwesha Williams is a single mother of three. LaQwesha and her three children, KyLeah (18), James (16) and Javari (11) currently reside in a 3-Bedroom property that does not meet the growing needs of the family. Additionally, LaQwesha has concerns of the neighborhood and is worried about the safety of her children. LaQwesha has always dreamed of becoming a homeowner and will be the first in her family to do so.
LaQwesha was born in Arkansas and relocated to Cedar Rapids at 8 years old with her mother and grandmother. The move was in response to her grandmother’s desire to continue in her career as a Social Worker. The family enjoys bowling, which they share in every Monday evening with LaQwesha’s home church group. The also enjoy grocery shopping and meal planning.
LaQwesha learned about Habitat through other Habitat partner families and friends of hers who have participated in the program. Without the help of Habitat, the volunteers and their friendly and patient staff, LaQwesha is certain homeownership would not be possible. The family thanks Habitat, the
partners and volunteers. “Everyone has been awesome and we have really enjoyed working with them. Thank you so much!”
