30 Years & Building

 In Blog, Stories

On September 12, 1988, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity was formed and legally incorporated. Its mission? To build “decent housing for God’s people in need,” as seen in an archival photo from the nineties.

While a lot has changed over the past 30 years, one thing hasn’t–the need for affordable housing and the community coming together to build it.

As we reflect on these past 30 years, we are reminded of the good work that this community has accomplished together.

Believing in a world where everyone has a decent place to live is a big dream – so every day we build towards it.

Proper shelter is the foundation on which families and communities thrive. Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health and stronger childhood development and give families the ability–and financial flexibility–to make forward-looking choices. For as little as 30 cents a day, you can make a difference in the lives of families in our community!
