Putting God’s love in action through the work of St. Pius X Catholic Church

Faith-based organizations across our service area are making a significant impact on the work of Habitat each and every day. And the commitment of St. Pius X Catholic Church to the mission is second to none.

As one of CVHFH’s original covenant partners, St. Pius X has been deeply involved with our local work for more than 30 years. For many years, the church has maintained a monthly financial pledge and organized two regular volunteer groups who work on build sites at least once a month. St. Pius X parishioners participate regularly through committee and board assignments, as well as support special events and other outreach efforts.

Following the flood of 2008, a dedicated group of St. Pius X volunteers and staff worked with CVHFH leaders to secure more than $200,000 through the Jessie Ball duPont Fund—a grant award that not only allowed for the construction and rehabilitation of new Habitat homes, but also helped launch our A Brush with Kindness owner-occupied painting and repair program.

This total commitment led CVHFH leadership to recognize St. Pius X with the inaugural Habitat Heart Award in December 2016.
