Building on Faith Dedication
Habitat volunteers, staff, board members and community members joined hands on the sunny evening of July 13th, 2017 to dedicate this beautiful home to the Kyubwa-Butoto family. Leonard and his family have been so engaged and excited about every step of this process. Together, Leonard and Julienne have five children, with the most recent one being born just days before this dedication. Now, all these children have a place to call home and will not have to worry about moving every year or so from one apartment from another. They have stability in their home life, which will provide a segway for many opportunities.
We are so thankful for Habitat for Humanity! Because of this program, we are able to afford a place of our own to call home!
Hebrews 3:4-6 states:
For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
About the Kyubwa-Butoto Family:
Leonard Kyubwa and Julienne Butoto started their journey in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before arriving in Tanzania where they had their first three children. In search of better opportunities, they arrived in Cedar Rapids from Tanzania and gave birth to two more children. This family of seven is excited to move out of their inadequate apartment that is too small, lacks heat and has loud noises outside most of the night. They are grateful for a safe, decent and affordable home that is close to the children’s school, and believe this opportunity will allow them to create a better life for their family.
