Update: Missed out on October? The November calendar is available now!
More than 30 years ago, the United Nations General Assembly took an important step in promoting the idea that everyone deserves a decent place to live by declaring that the first Monday in October would be World Habitat Day. During World Habitat Day, Habitat draws attention to the important role decent housing plays in removing barriers to opportunity, success and health that might have been part of a family’s life for years, if not generations.
In celebration of World Habitat Day (Monday, October 7), Join us to collect loose change every day of the month and help make a difference on behalf of those in need of simple, decent and affordable housing! Do this fun mindfulness exercise with your children, students, office, on social media, or just to remind yourself what to be thankful for! Once the month is over, donate it to Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity to share your good fortune with others! Don’t forget to post about it with the hashtags #ChangeForChange and #World Habitat Day!
