The Gazette offers area citizens the power to give local nonprofits free advertising dollars; Habitat for Humanity is one of them. 

Five years ago, The Gazette in Cedar Rapids started a program called The Gazette Gives Back. This program gives people an opportunity to cast their vote for a local nonprofit in the running for these advertising dollars. This isn’t a contest, per se, but the more votes that are cast for Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, the more advertising dollars we have access to in 2019 to spread the importance and critical work of Habitat for Humanity.  Active subscribers of The Gazette will receive their voter ID in a postcard and in an email in early to mid-November, which they will use to login online. Gazette subscribers get five votes to distribute among any number of organizations. For the first time ever, non-subscribers will also receive one vote! Reward members may also convert their reward points to votes.
